“Weaving Livelihoods: ACIC IIT (ISM) & BCCL Unite for Women Empowerment”

ACIC IIT (ISM) Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) to empower Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by reviving traditional jute and bamboo handicrafts at Belgaria Rehabilitation Township on 15.12.2025.

The project, with a total cost of ₹84.41 lakh, aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women through skill development, capacity building, and market-oriented handicraft production.

The MoU was exchanged between Shri Surendra Bhushan, HOD (CSR), BCCL, and Dr. Akanksha Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, ACIC IIT (ISM) Foundation, in the presence of representatives from ACIC and the BCCL CSR team.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment towards women empowerment, community development, and sustainable livelihoods through traditional crafts.
